We welcome our new Dietician Cathy to our health care team.

Cathy Wong is an accredited practicing dietitian and nutritionist. She has experience in a wide range of nutritional areas such as weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Irritable bowel syndrome and malnutrition.

Cathy believes in creating personalized solutions in collaboration with clients to help them take control of their health.  She would stop at nothing to ensure her clients are equipped with the best skills and knowledge to achieve their goals. Cathy is very passionate about encouraging clients to build a positive relationship with food. She believes that this is the key to achieving sustainable changes and overall better health and wellbeing.

Her professional interests include weight management, paediatrics and food intolerances such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Appointments can be made with our reception staff. Bulk Billing appointments available for patients under a chronic disease management plan (medicare EPC program).

• Receive SMS appointment reminders
• Receive SMS health reminders & recalls to discuss results

Our recent accreditation survey found that 99% of all patient ratings about this practice were good, very good or excellent. There were a few queries about our after hours service - Please be advised that we use the National Home Doctor Service, which does cover local areas (Yarrabilba included). Our phones after opening hours are diverted to the National Home Doctor Service, alternatively you can call 13 74 25 (13 SICK).

National Home Doctor Service Reminder

If you require urgent medical care outside of our opening hours, please be advised that we use the National Home Doctor Service. This means that after opening hours our practice phones are diverted to this service who will then arrange for a doctor to visit you in your home. All consultation visits by this service will be bulk billed, provided you hold a current medicare card.

We are very glad to announce that we have an experienced exercise physiologist visiting the practice. We welcome Amar Melandri.  His role is to assist patients in

  • falls prevention
  • increasing mobility and balance
  • assist with management of chronic health conditions, back pain, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, diabetes and more
  • reduce and manage age related illnesses

At Albert Street Medical we carried out a patient survey (the Practice Accreditation and Improvement Survey) and asked for your honest opinions on the service we provide. The survey results found that 94% of all patients ratings about this practice were good, very good, or excellent. We listened to your concerns and have taken the following actions in order to make improvements to patient care where you feel it would be most useful:

The GMSBML eHealth Team were at the Albert Street Medical Centre in Logan Village to assist patients, as well as support GPs and practice staff to complete the full cycle of eHealth records adoption. This involved patients registering for their own record with eHealth staff, through to assisting GP's with any questions on uploading patients' health summaries within their consultation.
